NEW YORK, NY – Last weekend, impeccable Parisian style came to New York when The Train/The Box returns to the historic Terminal Warehouse for its 11th season from Saturday, February 20th through Monday, February 22nd from 9:30AM – 6:30PM (closing at 6PM on Monday). Muriel Piaser, the Fashion Manager of the iconic PRET A PORTER PARIS, has revolutionized the trade show format by assembling a carefully curated mix of 100 designers ranging from rising stars to established including Whistle & Flute, Rachel Mara, Nat & Nin, & Repetto representing the latest trends in ready to wear and accessories to showcased their talent in the effortlessly chic setting. The design firm Wade & Strauss, whose clients include Vogue, Elle, Annie Leibovitz, and Bergdorf Goodman, brought the unparalleled elegance that has made PRET A PORTER legendary, creating a culturally charged setting where cutting edge fashion is fused with music, art and food. Piaser has continued to innovate The Train’s concept expanding three unique sections: The Train Designer, The Train Contemporary, The Engine, for upcoming designers, and the high-end accessories section, The Box, based on the successful show of the same name held during Paris Fashion Week.

The Train/The Box introduced buyers to the latest developments on the Nordic fashion scene with a showcase of some of the region’s most talented designers. Solveig Elton Jacobsen and her sister, Ashild Elton Jacobsen are the design team behind Norway’s Elton & Jacobsen - a street style collection with a hint of art and science fiction with a sporty twist. Finland’s fashion rock star Tiia Vanhatapio showcased her self-titled collection of va va voom cocktail dresses with a rocker edge. Sweden’s Ida Sjostedt created a collection with a tongue-and-cheek elegance for women who don’t take dressing up too seriously. Finally, Islaet, designed by Denmark’s Trine Jespersen brought Scandinavian expression injected with diverse and colorful London influence. In addition to the designers, The Train/The Box also highlighted new developments on the Nordic cultural scene including food, music, and an art exhibit.

Muriel Piaser, Fashion Manager of The Train/The Box explains her interest in the Nordic Fashion scene:
"Our work and aim is to introduce, each season, to the buyers new trends and emerging market: Nordic Fashion is one of the most dynamic at this time. These designers are in the spotlight, they are very successful because in addition to being creative they are very conscious about what is needed in the market, have good price and amazing marketing to catch the consumer’s spirit. They are very creative brands and bring alternative to the fashion business between big chains and middle market."

This season, The Train/The Box partnered exclusively with Brand Orders, the new state of-the-art fashion database that streamlines the tradeshow experience by creating a comprehensive electronic database of exhibitor’s collections so buyers can place their orders online seamlessly and immediately. All participating exhibitors at The Train/The Box will received a free trial membership to the site. Brand Orders will work exclusively with The Train/The Box and ten retail partners for their international launch.

Buyers who attend The Train/The Box were pampered with styling and blow-outs at the luxurious beauty suite provided by renowned stylist Philip Pelusi from Tela Design Studio and beautified by world famous make-up artist Christopher Drummond. The ambiance was enhanced by fragrance extraordinaire, Votivo, providing the newest collection of candles and diffusers for ultimate relaxation while they shopped this season’s hottest ready-to-wear and accessories trends. The hip Ace Hotel, luxurious Maritime Hotel and Kimpton Hotel’s new Ink48 provided top-of –the-line hotel accommodations, while the Premium Lifestyle Group offered pre-show and on-site concierge service to make sure visitors experienced the best New York has to offer.
